Welcome to Apex

This quaint North Carolina community is the epitome of small-town living.

The charming town of Apex is timeless, family-oriented, and historical. Situated in Wake County, Apex runs along the highest section of the Chatham Railroad. There is a museum that displays an old caboose in the railroad’s exquisitely restored train station. The town’s downtown area is architecturally rich and features many Victorian-style buildings, some of which have been brilliantly restored. Here, you will find antique shops, local eateries, and specialty stores along pedestrian-friendly streets. Downtown Apex was designated a historic district in 1994 and the train stop was dubbed a Wake County landmark in 1867. The town’s motto is “The Peak of Good Living,” and rightfully so. Apex has been recognized as one of the best places to live in the nation and is one of the fastest-growing American suburbs.

Locals in Apex are friendly, which makes visitors and residents alike feel right at home. The community is also tight-knit and laid-back, offering small-town living at its finest. Although small, Apex is bursting with local flavor. For Italian, Daniel’s and Osteria G both serve delicious authentic cuisine with fresh tastes. The Provincial is a farm-to-table restaurant with stellar craft beers. If you’re looking for some fine dining, Chef’s Palette prepares mouthwatering American cuisine presented with creative flair. Apex has many recurring annual events that bring the community together too. The town’s Christmas Parade is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. Twinkling lights adorn the quaint streets as over 100 floats make their way through historic Apex. PeakFest is a popular art and crafts street festival and is Apex’s largest public event. Here, families and friends gather for shopping, food, rides, and entertainment in Downtown Apex. Beaver Creek Crossings is the town’s main shopping center and has all types of shops, restaurants, and services in a walkable area. The Rusty Bucket sells vintage country household items and is set in the heart of Salem Street.

Apex is located in North Carolina’s prestigious Research Triangle, so is less than 30 minutes from Duke University, North Carolina State University, and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
