This upscale area hosts summer fitness classes at its Grassy Midtown Park and concerts at The Ritz nightclub. Raleigh is a food lover’s paradise as the city features a wide range of cuisines and cooking styles. Notable eateries include the casual Second Empire tavern and the retro Poole’s Diner. Another way to sample Raleigh’s delicious eats is at one of its many farmers’ markets. For shopping, the Crabtree Valley Mall has it all with nearly 200 different stores. The Capital City has a renowned art scene too. The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts is the city’s premier art venue, featuring everything from Broadway musicals to political speakers. The Walnut Creek Amphitheater is another artistic hot spot. This gorgeous open-air venue has featured rock legends and regularly hosts grand music festivals.

Raleigh is home to top-tier colleges, including North Carolina State University, Shaw University, and Saint Augustine’s University.
